Minimalistic Wedding | Jubilee Weddings and Events

Creating a minimalistic wedding is all about embracing simplicity, clean and simple design, and putting all your focus on what really matters: the unification of partners. As a Seattle wedding planner, we have had the pleasure to help plan and coordinate a vast range of wedding styles and themes, and there is no right or wrong answer when creating your wedding design. As long as you stay true to YOUR VISION, then that’s all that matters. But if you’re wanting to lean more towards a minimalistic wedding design then we thought we’d offer your some focus points to start your planning journey. Did you know Jubilee also has wedding decor in Seattle Washington?

Focus on setting a clear overall theme and color palette. Choose more neutral colors that mesh well together and are easily manipulated. Find wedding décor that is simple yet elegant. Think more clean cut lines, subtle textures, fine script and fewer colors. Use whites, greys and blacks with an emphasis on more natural, earthy tones. Adding metallic accents such as gold or silver, allows for a touch of luxury without adding additional color flare.

Choose a venue with natural beauty or modern architecture, such as a chic art gallery, a small garden, waterfront location, or a minimalist restaurant. Avoid venues that have heavy décor and abstract fixtures and moldings. Opt for wide open spaces with lots of natural lighting to help the space feel open and less cluttered.

Choose simple wedding attire for your wedding party Select beautifully simple dresses for your bridesmaids and neutral colored suits/tuxes for the groomsmen. If you’re wanting a minimalistic wedding gown, choose a sleek, timeless wedding gown with minimal embellishments. Think simple cuts, such as A-line or sheath styles, and fabrics like silk or crepe. But you also have full permission to let the bride be the only exception for frivolous and fancy.

Deciding on décor is the main area where you can focus on minimalism. Use fewer floral arrangements, focusing on simple flowers with clean lines like orchids, roses, or wildflowers. You can also use greenery for a more natural vibe. Keep the table décor/centerpieces small and simple. Use white or clear glass vases, candles, and maybe a few hand-picked flowers. Avoid elaborate tablecloths or too many accessories. Utilize soft, warm lighting such as candles or simple fairy lights to create an intimate, calm ambiance.

Create a simplified menu that offers a small but thoughtfully curated menu with high-quality ingredients. A few courses, well-prepared, will give the same sense of luxury without overwhelming the guests. Consider food stations or a simple plated dinner instead of an elaborate buffet.

Keep the ceremony short and sweet. Minimize the use of props and extravagant decorations. Let the natural surroundings or the setting take center stage, and keep any speeches or readings short and meaningful. Curate smooth and low-key music, while adding instrumentals, live music or artfully crafted playlists.

By focusing on essentials and stripping away unnecessary elements, a minimalist wedding can still be full of elegance and personal touches. It’s all about creating an atmosphere that feels authentic to you, your partner, and your closest guests. Sometimes less, truly is more and creating a day focused on your marriage should be the main focus of the day! Allow Jubilee Weddings and Events to be your wedding coordinator in Washington!
